"You have awakened the sleeping giant."
About Katy Abram
Katy decided to become part of the political process in 2009 by attending a town hall meeting to speak to Senator Arlen Specter and ask a few questions. Katy got thunderous applause when she stated that she didn’t want her country being dismantled and turned into a socialist country. She quickly became a symbol of the emerging Tea Party movement after telling Sen. Specter, “you have awakened the sleeping giant.”
Katy quickly became a media sensation as one of the few faces of private citizens in the nationwide movement to stop an out of control government. She has been featured on Hannity, Beck and MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews, among others. Leading up to her work with AFP-PA, Katy founded and ran the 912 group in LebanonCounty. She was then awarded the first ever Liberty Heart Award by Glenn Beck and the National 912 Project for her questioning Senator Specter with boldness.
Katy Abram is currently the policy analyst for Americans For Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA), where she advocates for limited government, free markets and judicial fairness.
Katy attended Bloomsburg University majoring in Mass Communications. Upon her graduation she was hired by WGAL-TV in Lancaster, PA as a news photojournalist. She also worked as a photojournalist during her time with WBFF in Baltimore, Maryland. Katy can be found on twitter at www.twitter.com/katyabram. Click here for to join her Facebook fan page.
