Santorum Scandal: He Likes to Watch Football 10/25/2011

Cut the guy some slack.

Imagine yourself running for President of the United States.  Much of your time would be spent listening to the speeches of your opponents, attending rubber chicken dinners and practicing for your next debate.  Your life would no longer be your own as you are beholden to the schedule your handlers lay out for you.

In a moment, which some are calling an embarrassing, former Senator Rick Santorum is caught watching a football game on his iPad during yet another rubber chicken dinner.  In the video you can hear Newt Gingrich in the background addressing the crowd.

Some call this embarrassing, I call this being human.  Kudos to Rick for attempting to hold onto some normalcy.  I just hope he was watching the Penn State game.

Had it been President Obama watching a game during a speech, I wonder what your reaction would have been. I bet it wouldn't be "cut the guy some slack." This is a typical hypocritical Republican response. If a Republican is caught at something, it's ok if it's a Democrat doing the exact same thing, it's deplorable. Oh well, Newt and Sandtorum both have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination anyway.

I am the stay at home mom who confronted Senator Arlen Specter at a town hall and told him, "you have awakened the sleeping giant."
